Research indicates that the majority of young girls begin to move away from science and technology in the middle of years. Through our innovative Folkways program, we instill middle-aged children with a love for the exploration of science through activities that involve simple traditional skills. Using food science, we combine arts and crafts to emphasize chemistry, biology, and physics. As these children become young adults, the problem-solving skills they have learned in our innovative programs with help them in their daily lives.
